(Catalogue and order form below)
Each of our books his hand bound to ropes in the style of the 16th, 17th and 18th centuries, a process that takes 10-20 hours for each.
Hand marbled papers are optional, and were used in Northern Europe as early as the 1560s, but were not common until the second half of the 17th century; we keep a selection of close-to-real patterns for this period. Gold gilding or blind tooling (embossing) is added to each of our books.
Most books are made to order, as such we ask for about 90 days leeway to complete and ship. Rush orders are sometimes possible, depending.
A History of Pyrates, 1724

This book is a combined history of pirate tales, assembled from earlier works and interviews by the author, Captain Charles Johnson, himself a captain.

The Exercise of Arms
Laws Devine, Morall and Martial 1612
In 1612, in response to the siege of Jamestown, the English became more military focused. The siege was perceived to cause the “starving time” which was viewed as a “last straw” aggressive act on behalf of the native Americans. This laws were intended to instill discipline in the colony as the English pursued a military solution and conflict with Wahunsenacawh (Powhatan) intensified. The laws themselves are harsh and somewhat extreme, but the degree to which they were enforced is debatable.
